From my Family to Yours...

I can't believe Christmas 2009 is 7 days away...This year has went by too fast! This time last year I was pregnant with my 3rd child, so you know what that means...Brendan is turning 1!! I think I spent most of tonight just watching my kids sleep. They grow too fast, so i take a billion pictures and try and capture as much of them in their innocence as humanly possible. *sigh*
Here's a little taste of our Christmas Card this year:

What better way to spread holiday cheer than be super goofy??
Wishing you all...
a very MERRY HOLIDAY & a ROCKIN' NEW YEAR!!

"LOVE GAME"

ME being the LEO and HIM being the GEMINI

A Gemini individual will find much in common with a person born under the Leo zodiac sign. Both of them love to have fun, have an adventurous nature and enjoy life. They will find each other quite fascinating and love each other's company. The Lion is on the same intellectual level as the Gemini and this will make their conversions interesting as well as soul-satisfying. However, the varied interests of the latter may make a Leo jealous, as he wants to hold the primary importance in a relationship.

Leo is much more capable of forming long-lasting bonds than Gemini and tends to stick to the people and the things he likes. This may clash with the Gemini trait of being on the move, all the time. The sharp tongue of the latter may hurt the fragile ego of the Lion and this may bring some compatibility problems in this love match. However, a Leo forgives easily and this will act as a major relief. Geminis make Leos relax and they, in turn, teach the Twins generosity and warmth. If they learn to give each other freedom, this relationship can be a very strong one.

Gemini Man and Leo Woman

Except for a few grey areas, the love match of a Gemini man and Leo woman shows great degree of compatibility. It has all the signs of developing into a lasting bond. Both the individuals love to be the center of attraction and thrive on parties and socializing. They will never fall short of meaningful conversation and there will be no chances of boredom creeping into this relationship. However, he will have to control his flirtatious nature and she will have to learn to let him have his freedom, without being suspicious.

Gemini Woman and Leo Man

A Gemini woman and a Leo man have extremely good chances of getting on well with each other. Both are social individuals, who love meeting new people and enjoy going to the parties. She will love his grandiosity, his funny sense of humor and his generous nature. He will adore her for her vivacity, adventurous nature and passion for life. There will be no dearth of romance and passion in this relationship. One thing they will have to remember will be to complement each other and never ever stand on the opposite side of the road, whatever is the temptation.

They hit this one right on the nose!!

Memory Lane

Don’t you just love how you can look at a picture and remember the exact place it was taken? Or when you hear a song and all of a sudden it takes you back 5 or 10 years. It’s weird how certain things can trigger your mind to just go back into time, feeling that exact emotion as if you are living that moment over again. Every few years I dig into the archives of my computer or the boxes and boxes of pictures and letters at my parents house and I’m just thrown back. Where has the time gone?? When I was younger I was in such a rush to grow-up, but now I just wish time would slow down. I think it’s good to go back and take that journey of life through those pictures and songs. To remember how you were and to realize who you have become. I find it quite fascinating!

inspiration.

After 3 kids, you kind of just wish everything will go back to normal. (emphasizing on your body)! Unfortunately, you are never the same exact person you were before you had the baby after you had it. Make sense?! Your whole purpose of life changes...you no longer put "you" first. I know people always say, you still have to make time for you. And as easy as that sounds...it's not that easy...Because I would rather put their needs before my own.

Every year right before summer, i always dread it because summer=bathing suit. Which leads to bathing suit ready body...i am determined to be comfortable in a 2 piece next year...i am going to do it! No more babies for me... :(

my inspiration for after babie(s) body:

Brooke Burke

I don't think I've seen a cuter pregnant person than Brooke Burke. I've always thought she was just so freakin' hot since back in the day...Now, I have so much respect for her as a mother. I mean come on, i love her so much my daughters middle name is Brooke! I love happy endings...this is a fairy tale still going on...not even an ending yet, but you get the point.

Kelly Ripa

I've always loved Kelly Ripa because she just seems so intelligent, beautiful and funny! I love her sense of style because it's so effortless. The fact that she's petite with no boobs is in inspiring too...Because BIGGER ISN'T ALWAYS BETTER! Love yourself the way you are...her confidence exudes her, it breaks out as a bright light all over her. You can just tell it's TRUE HAPPINESS.

Living proof, you really can have it all...

MTV.

Watching the VMA's tonight these were the highlights and low lights:

-MJ tribute was awesome, but damn, they should have murdered that shit. So many errors stuck out to me, but RIP to the KING!
-Kanye is a "DOUCHEBAG" (the end)
-i heart Taylor Swift
-pink blows me away every time! Her rugged edgey voice kills it. You definitely feel the emotion in her songs. My favorite cd was her 1st one, but I still love her now.

-The EXTENDED/EXCLUSIVE NEW MOON was packed with so much HOTNESS people, I can't wait for it to come out!!

-To Beyonce, much respect for your speech during the Video of the year acceptance. I'm sure Taylor Swift appreciated that.
-Jay-Z & A-keys closer (super FIRE, would it be anything else?)
-Lil' Mama jumping on at the end though, was NOT HOT. what was she thinking?

Night Terrors.

So ever since IJ was a toddler we have been plagued with broken sleep due to his screams of death in the middle of the night. At first I thought it was nightmares, but its more than just that. I don't know why it took me so long to do my research but this article pretty much sums it up:

What's the Issue?

Night wakings are frustrating for parents. We all know what it is like when your infant wakes up in the dead of night for a feed and then won't resettle … at 3:00 AM, when you are at your lowest level of functioning as a parent. But now, your toddler should be a reasonable sleeper, and these night wakings take on a new flavor: scary, tiresome, and just plain yucky.

Consider the Numbers

Between one and six percent of all children have night terrors (also called sleep terrors), according to Rudolph's Fundamentals of Pediatrics—one of the "big three" doctors' textbooks. But one recent study in the journal Pediatrics (May 2007) showed that up to 40 percent of all children have at least one night terror by their sixth birthday. This seems a more accurate number from what I see in pediatric practice. Additionally, statistics say that one third of children who have night terrors will begin experiencing them in the second year of life.

Also interesting about night terrors? They're more common in boys, and children who have night terrors often have other family members who have them as well.

What Parents Can Do

Understanding night terrors may make them seem a bit less freaky, and they can be most easily explained as being caught in between wakefulness and sleep. Think of it this way: The brain disconnects from the body during sleep. That is why—thankfully!—we don't all get out of bed and act out our dreams.

Parasomnias (medical talk for sleep disorders such as night terrors) are disturbances in which there is an incomplete disconnect, so to speak. Your child may be partially awake and able to generate some motor movement, but she is mostly asleep and thus oblivious to her surroundings. Children who experience night terrors don't remember what has happened the next day—just like kids (or adults) who talk or walk in their sleep

Night terrors can come in many varieties. The classic night terror involves sitting up in the crib, eyes wide open and screaming like there is a lion loose in the room (because that is what she might be dreaming). Kids are generally inconsolable and may even get a bit more agitated as you try to comfort them. They may hallucinate, talk gibberish, or lash out at you physically.

Night terrors can also involve talking (for those more verbal toddlers), saying nothing, or even laughing. I had one family ready to call the family chaplain for an exorcism after finding their child sitting up in bed at 10:30 PM looking at the wall and giggling with a deep voice. Yikes! (No wonder some say they are called night "terrors"—because they terrify parents.)Your child's doctor will likely tell you that night terrors are normal and then explain the physiology behind them. (This is a fairly common late-night discussion with a worried parent over the phone.)

What patterns do night terrors follow?

• They typically occur one to two hours into the night's sleep, or certainly in the first third of your child's night's sleep.

• The terror generally lasts less than 20 minutes and concludes with the child lying down and going into a deeper stage of sleep.

• Night terrors often occur in bunches. We tend to see more of them when kids are off schedule and their routines are disrupted—so, during holidays (when bedtimes are less rigid), just after a move to a new home, during times of illness, or even following Daylight Saving Time changes can come times of increased terrors.

How can parents handle night terrors?

The usual advice for parents of kids with recurrent night terrors is to check on your child to make sure everything is OK and to let it run its course—not always an easy task when your child seems so miserable. If you intervene, which is a parent's natural instinct, it usually takes longer to resolve and involves more agitation.

When kids are having frequent and predictable night terrors, doctors will sometimes advise waking kids 15 minutes before a night terror will likely occur. So if Will is having nightly terrors at 10:30, you might awaken him at 10:00 or 10:15 briefly and let him fall back asleep. This disrupts the sleep cycle just enough to avert the predictable sleep disturbance. Most children outgrow their night terrors before they turn 12, though a few adults still have them on occasion.

(I will definitely be putting some of these tactics to use. Hope this helps for anyone in a similar situation. F.Y.I.)

2nd grade

So another school year has officially begun. :( I don't think it ever gets any easier, in fact, it gets harder. The older they get the sadder I get, waterworks are more than just puddles and rivers they're lakes and oceans. As much as I'm glad to see him become independent, I'm a mom, I want him to need me and want me to do things for him and with him. Now a days he acts like he knows everything and can do it all on his own...he really does know a lot, but damn, that's still my baby!!

bills, bills, bills

I feel like I am drowning in bills…can you pay my bills?

The direct deposit hasn’t even hit my bank account yet and the money from this paycheck is already gone. I’m really tired of working 45 hours a week to be broke. This grown-up stuff is hard, I’m hoping I can figure it out soon, because as much as I feel like I’m taking care of business. I don’t want to just be able to survive off my money, I want to be able to enjoy it. This is where some kind of budgeting would come into play, but I am not very good at that kind of thing. I will always find a reason to need to buy a new outfit or that thing I just had to have right then and there. I guess it isn’t very good that the partner and I are the same when it comes to that, because that means we are NO good at saving…He’s probably better at it than me, but we are very compulsive buyers, when we get something in our head that we want, we have to get it.

Could it be that we are both the babies of our families? I think so…always used to getting what we want.

Why can’t money just grow on trees?

Cruel Summer.

I had fun this summer, but I am a little disappointed I wasn’t able to go on any BIG VACATION GETAWAYS like we originally had planned at the beginning of it. Where did the summer go?? I guess it’s flashing before my eyes like the rest of my life.

So Isaiah asked me to start an e-mail account for him, my 7 yr old was chatting with me on google talk today. *tear* He starts 2nd grade on Monday too…

when it rains it pours I guess.

EFF u MONDAYS.

I literally am NOT a fan of MONDAYS. Why can’t we all just have 3 day weekends, I seriously have the hardest time waking up on Monday mornings because I’m always in shock as to how fast my weekend went by. I swear we would all be a lot happier if we had 3 day weekends every week, because there is nothing like remembering, “wait I have another day off”. It just comes as a shock to you every time. I was able to do a lot of errands/chores as well as get some well needed rest back when I had to work only 4 days a week. I miss you 4 10’s…I think I want you back. Well actually, I want you back!!

…So exhausted without you.

C.TATUM.

The highlight of my day...:) Too bad I'm not the lucky girl who got the lapdance! jk

It's a small world after all.

When you’re young the world seems so big, you go to your 1st day of pre-school and nobody knows who you are. So you try your best to make some friends. By the end of High School the world just seems to be a little smaller, especially if you’ve lived in the same city your whole life. Now that we’re adults and you meet friends through friends and family, the world seems to be even SMALLER. Now you’re at the point where every group is interacting with a person from another group and every club is just a bunch of people you used to hate in high school or have some kind of funk with at some point in your life. So can it be that our adolescent years were just really growing pains? Where you would hate on a girl just because your BFF didn’t like her…or put people on blast because back then, you really had nothing to lose.

Now that we’re older it’s all about responsibility, kids, love and LOVING LIFE. I guess we all learned to just not care about the petty things.

CHEERS TO GROWING PAINS. We’re a lot smarter now…:)

workhouse blues.

Well while most people work 8 hr shifts, I’m stuck working 9. I don’t know what’s worse FOUR 10 hr days or FIVE 9 hr days. Lately, this job has just been majorly boring, like I am wasting my time being here scrounging for things to do. Work shouldn’t be like this, they should be able to keep you occupied the entire duration of the 9 hours they want you to be here. Because lord knows I am the type of worker that would rather have too much to do rather than not enough to do, because that’s what determines whether your day will fly by or go in slow motion.

Like today, I was looking up at the clock only to find 2 minutes have passed when it felt like hours. So if you got time to kill hit me at the “workhouse”, I’ll find something to occupy time if they can’t.

…:)

T-minus 27 minutes!

You learn.

After a while you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean security
and you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises

you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes open, with
the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child
and you learn to build your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain
and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight

after a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so, you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone else to bring you flowers
and you learn you really can endure
that you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn and you learn
with every good-bye you learn.

Leo's stand up!

Since our season is in full swing I thought it would be nice to post up our 2009 horoscope, I found it to be quite interesting. HAPPY BORN DAY to my fellow LEOS!

In 2009, you find yourself connecting with people effortlessly as your warm-hearted actions are acknowledged and radiated back to you in a way you've never experienced before. The confident joy and happiness you freely give to others gives you the innate ability to be productive. For you, kind actions are the way to transformation and success.

This is a perfect time for proud Leo, because you have the desire, drive and power to help society. You realize there?s work to do, and you'll give a helping hand wherever you can. You are ready to align yourself with a higher level of awareness, and exhibit a regenerative attitude is about reaping the harvest by submitting to the larger purpose. What you are able to give to others directly reflects the transformation happening within you.

Your heart is in the right place, and you are likely to accomplish all that you set out to do this year. You're developing excellent skills in your own personal transformation process, and you are ready to make the conscious decision to be the best you can be. You feel secure, and the beauty of who you are shines through easily and effortlessly.

This is Me.

Free as the wind that blows through the trees,
Active as the buzzing of the energetic bees,
Wild as the flowers that grow in the field,
But as calm as the deep blue sea

My smile is extra bright,
And the love I give is just right,
I'm so happy about my life,
That my soul just shines,
Even when life begins to taste like a sour lime,

I'm not your average young lady,
Jewels, diamonds, and pearls are things I don't need,
To love, respect and honor is my creed,
So I'll always keep it real,

I am what I am
Young, Bold and Be-you-ti-full,
I do the best I can,
I will never change because I know me just being, is enough,
I can only be me and that's all I will ever strive to be

(Such a silly willy. Wow, 4th blog of the night, I think its time for bed! Sweet dreams!)

Lead by EXAMPLE.

Some people really need to lead with their actions and not just their words.

I see this all the time, the "mom" at the club that gets so drunk she doesn't realize all the sick fucks groping on her ass, then passes out in a room full of strangers just to have her ass BBM'ed to their friends with in seconds or twitpic'ed on twitter. SHAME ON YOU. Yes, mommy's need a break too, I am a firm believer in that, but I really can't stand people that can't hold their own, ESPECIALLY in public. If you're at your homies house and feel like being a hot mess, go for it!

Lord knows I have...

Cause yup, I'm the girl that will probably drink too much, throw up in the bathroom, drink a glass of water and take another shot of henn. CHEERS to the mutha fuckin' GOOD LIFE.

I'm just saying...

or am i wrong?? maybe it's just me...

but you aren't that single kid in college anymore, with nothing to worry about. You have kids depending on you and if you get kidnapped, raped and murdered while you decide to play "freak in the streets" that would just be tragic. At least have a cool group of friends around you that are gonna watch your back if you decide to get all sloppy. It still ain't a good look though ladies, it's true what they say...

..."you can't make a hoe a housewife." or can you??

super touchy subject, where all my CLASSY BITCHES at?!

"Back in the Day"

I find myself singing this more and more as I get older. *sigh*

conspire to INSPIRE.

I get so inspired reading blogs, my goodness, sometimes I feel like I'm not putting in my share of good reads. But thank you to the people that keep me coming back for more. There's nothing like it when you are stuck at the Dr's office, on your break at work or killing some time before bed while you have some silence after the kids have fallen asleep, to read what advice people have to share, GOOD ADVICE at that and FREE.

I know there's no such thing as learning from other peoples mistakes, but at least it gives HOPE, that yup, it's true, LIFE GOES ON...even after all the heartbreak, tears, backstabbing, shit-talking, loss of trust, I'm hoping you get the point by now...so let me end with this...

keep on writing the words of your heart and mind, through your fingers onto the keyboard, and PUBLISHING it for the world to see.

...cause you INSPIRE me.

Family Portrait

Trying to get a good picture with four kids is a hard enough task as it is...I think we got a pretty good one, well I don't like that I'm not smiling, but at least the kids are decent. :) So I'll take it.

words to live by.

Friday, July 31, 2009

the best things come in small packages.

Meet my godson Bailey a.k.a. BAILROC!

He's the little boy with BIG dreams! A passion for fashion and a love for DANCE, (just like me) heehee. :) Doing really big things right now showcasing his talent all over the United States. So proud of all his accomplishments and it isn't going to stop anytime soon. BAILROC is the GUZMAN's SHINING STAR!! We have one talented family I can tell you that much!
BAILROC in action at the ROCK STEADY 32nd anniversary NYC:

The crew he gets down with in LV "PRODIGY":

USA HIP HOP CHAMPIONSHIPS in Las Vegas:

BAILROC and SoREAL CRU
BAILROC w/Teresa of BEAT FREAKZ

So proud of you Bailey!! "CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP."I will leave you all with a video of the JABBAWOCKEEZ dance work shop in vegas. I'm sure you will know which one he is!! :)

the face behind the mask.

Quick vent session, for my damn self!

I find it funny when I see pictures of a person or meet someone out at a club and think? damn, she is gorgeous!!Only to find out she was just really photogenic, or hiding behind a damn mask the whole time. Hey, sorry, but IF you look like a totally different person with the mask off, that isn't a good thing!

I'll be the first one to admit i love to wear make-up when i go out or on special occasions, but i feel that it should be to enhance beauty. I never never knew make-up could make ugly people look pretty. But i guess it does hold that kind of power!

what makes it funny to me is how these girls act like they are the freakin' ONE!! ONE OF A KIND, THE SHIT...Sorry for ya, cause you ain't! I'm all about being your #1 fan, but if you don't got it, you don't got it! hopefully you have that inner beauty to keep it movin'.

if you can't leave home without it, that can't be a good thing! i prefer to have mine on, but i am fine without it! Make up just gives me that up and up feeling...that "i feel pretty feeling". but i KNOW i am just the same without it!!

the end.

GO HARD or GO HOME

"Go hard, today. Can't worry about the past cause that was yes-sterday. I'ma put it on tonight cause it's my time."

(this song gets me so hyped to do better...those words in particular. GET UP, GET OUT and GET SOME)

Wild Wild West

So we finally had the chance to go to Bonnie Springs. This little Western Town type thing over by Red Rock, which was surprisingly a blast! We've had a very hard time finding "Family Friendly" activities to do out here in Vegas, so this was definitely a diamond in the ruff. They had a train ride, petting zoo and on going shows during the day.
We all really enjoyed it, THANK GOD it was cloudy with a light breeze because we managed to stay there from 10:30-3:00. I definitely recommend you go when it first opens at 10:30. It's a fee of $20 per car and everything else there is pretty much free. Minus the food and drinks of course. They even had horse back riding...or Pony rides for the younger ones. $55 for an hour ride and $7.50 on the pony.

...we also got an idea of what to put in our backyard! hahahaha

My heart will go on...

We decided to check out the Titanic Artifact Exhibit at the Luxor a few weekends ago, and boy was it worth it! If you are ever in Vegas this next year, make time to see it. I am a huge fan of the movie, was a bit disappointed when I realized JACK and ROSE were only fictional characters though. :( Oh well...there were some really awesome parts in there, but i don't want to ruin it for anyone...just check it out.

Time and a half

What a productive week for me...

-57 hrs on the job
-cooked dinner 4 out of 7 days of the week.
-folded 20 freakin' loads of laundry
-cleaned my closet
-went to the titanic artifact exhibition
-brought the kids to the pool
-brunch w/my moms, brother, significant others and kids.
-stopped by hooters for my favorite buffalo shrimp
-sang karaoke
-baked
-grocery shopping
-washed the cars

This is the kind of week I hope to have all the time. Sometimes we tend to have some really lazy weeks/days...and just want to lay and do nothing. But I think that's okay too, because you get burnt out and need to recharge your batteries. Being on the go 24/7 with 4 kids, I really am super mom! Wait, super freakin' woman!! Yup.

It feels good to finally be unpacked from all of our trips. We are home again. Traveling so much from LV to the BAY...I think we need to just chill at home for a while.

...What to do for my birthday, have no clue. Damn, 27? Shit...haven't really done anything that major since my 25th. (I'm usually pregnant on my birthdays.lol) But I'm thinking I want to finally try out a mechanical bull and possibly some type of pool party. If I can even be seen in a bathing suit.

Which reminds me, I haven't seen my aunt in a while and the 1st thing she says is..."Have you gained weight?" Wow, I like honesty but straight out the gate? No hi or cheek to cheek first?

And people wonder why I can be so insecure, especially when it comes to my body.

...Over and out!

For this month only!

It's really nice having all the kids together. :) I love it! Family portraits? I hope we can get it done...greetings from VEGAS!

ALY's got TALENT

Happy, singing "once upon a dream" by emily osment. Aly is one of those kids that bops her head, taps her foot, shakes her behind when there's music on. She will wrestle you to the ground when she sees a microphone, drum sticks, or a guitar in your possession. Stage fright? What's that? She likes to be the center of attention all the time! She demands it...I don't know who she gets it from.

You're a B-R-A-T.

The picture speaks for itself. She didn't want to share the MAGIC of the MIC with anyone.

In the Night.

So since so many people were in town last weekend and they all said they were going to XS at Encore on Saturday night. We decided to make a cameo! You know we hardly ever go out, but we felt like we deserved a night out, I KNOW I DID! Benny isn't really a "clubbing" kind of guy, but he knows I like to go to socialize with my friends, have a few drinks, and shake my tail feather! :) He's more of a gambling guy, but sometimes you gotta do something I wanna do!! lol Normally it sucks, because unless you are a group of girls in Vegas, you get stuck in the stupid VEGAS club lines!! Where you see all these people passing you up, because they have a table or they are a bunch of females. We live in vegas, so we don't do it hella major with bottle service every time we go out, or else we would be freakin' broke! So by the time we even get remotely close to the door Benny wants to go home. But i warned him before, that we are having fun tonight, so you better leave your attitude at home! hahahaha.

XS was pretty nice, it's like a bigger version of TRYST. The pool area was ridiculous and there were even black jack tables! Perfect for you girls with a man that needs to gamble! A little bit of both worlds! Unless you had a table, trying to get a drink at the bar took freakin' centuries! so that was definitely a negative, but please believe we didn't let that ruin our night!

We ended up staying out later than we planned to because we had so much fun. yup, can't wait for the next adult night out. Cause we just need it sometimes! :) My first drinking experience with Carlen, oh how I've missed her.

Happy 21st Birthday Rowena!! The "Union City" sure came out of me that night, bitches trying to fuck with me and my alcohol, aye they should know better!

Wrapped around my finger.

There's no feeling that compares to when you have little tiny fingers wrapped around one of yours. Grasping on to you so tight, just wanting you to be there and guide them in the right direction.

I'm telling you, there has been no greater challenge I've witnessed that comes remotely close to raising a child. There is no greater reward to me than a smile on one of my children's faces. Some people are rich with money, but I'm filthy rich in other ways. And you know what...I wouldn't have it any other way.

The late and great...

He didn't just make moves; he made history. His legend will live on through his music. We should all be grateful we got to witness his talent. RIP Michael Jackson at the age of 50.

speak on it.

...thank you boss bizness...

If you're ever in Vegas...

Go see the show "HUMAN NATURE" at Imperial Palace! I am so serious, I was dancing and singing to every song. They were so good...If you love Motown it's a must see! Benny and I were so impressed, we can't wait to watch it again. And the next time I go, I'm going all out dressed in Motown attire! I am so glad I got these show tickets for Benny for Father's Day, we had such a great time. We bought all 3 of their CD's and listened to them on the way home, but we still think they sounded 100 times better live! Our favorite part was probably when they sang their version of "Ooo Baby Baby", a remake of Smokey Robinson's original song, and man...they blew me away! I am a hardcore fan of theirs and that was the 1st time I saw them!

"The members of Human Nature are the first to admit that it’s a little strange to hear four white Australian guys singing Motown, but once they take the stage and start performing at the Imperial Palace, you’ll think these guys were born to sing the legendary songs made famous by artists like The Temptations and The Four Tops.

Smokey Robinson Presents Australia's Human Nature – The Ultimate Celebration of Motown features the vocal harmonies of Toby Allen, Phil Burton, Andrew Tierney and Michael Tierney.
In 2005 Human Nature recorded a tribute album to Motown called “Reach Out” and it caught Robinson’s attention. He invited the group to visit him at a recording session and they impressed him so much that he recorded some remakes for their album “Get Ready.” Robinson now introduces them via video screen six nights a week at the Imperial Palace.
The quartet, backed by a six-piece band, starts out with high-energy songs like “Baby I Need Your Lovin’” by The Four Tops and “The Way You Do the Things You Do” by The Temptations and the pace never slows from there.

Human Nature tries to channel the feeling and style of the Motown era in every way, even dressing impeccably in a variety of matching suits and tuxes throughout the show.
All good Motown groups had synchronized dance moves to go along with their songs and Human Nature is no exception. “Stop in the Name of Love” by The Supremes presents the perfect opportunity to teach some simple steps to the audience and everyone gets up out of their seats to participate. Audience participation does end there. Later in the show, the group chooses a woman in the audience to go on stage and sing along with Human Nature's on The Tempations’ “My Girl.”

The members of Human Nature interact well together on stage and their voices blend flawlessly. It’s evident that they’ve been together for a long time and have perfected their craft.
The group formed in 1989 as a doo-wop band in Sydney. In 1994 they signed with Sony Music and released their debut album “Telling Everybody” in 1995. The album was an instant hit, selling four times platinum and in the process becoming the most successful debut album ever released in Australia.

The group has performed as the opening act for Celine Dion and Michael Jackson and in 2000 they had the honor of performing the Australian National Anthem at the Sydney Olympics.
For a group that has spent years playing in huge stadiums, it’s a treat to see them in the intimate 653-seat theater at the Imperial Palace.
While every song Human Nature performs has the audience singing and clapping along, it’s the group’s a cappella songs that bring the house down. Their rendition of “People Get Ready” by The Impressions is stunning and the a cappella version of Smokey Robinson & The Miracles’ “Ooh Baby Baby” is what originally caught Robinson’s attention.

By the end of the show, the entire audience is on its feet and the performers are dancing in the aisles and even on table tops.

This show isn’t about fancy sets or special effects, it’s about the raw singing talent of Human Nature and the uplifting music of an era that will leave you nostalgic for the days of Motown."
